slashgirl writes “‘The CBC’s fifth annual Canada Reads got underway Monday, with the introduction of the upcoming edition’s short list of battling books and each title’s celebrity advocate.
The scholarly skirmish runs from April 17 to 21, during which time five prominent Canadians will each defend a chosen book and its author on CBC Radio. Each day, a title will be cast off until the panel is left with one book it feels should be on Canada’s “must-read” list.’
