Parents win spots on Rochester MI school books panel

Anonymous Patron writes The Detroit News reports Public school parents will have a greater say in what their children read after several book challenges prompted a change in Rochester school district policies.

Rochester Community School District administrators told a crowd of more than 150 residents at Monday night’s school board meeting that two parents now will sit on each of the district’s three book-challenge committees for elementary, middle and high schools, said district spokesman Donn Tignanelli.”
