Out-of-Print Books Back in Favor

Librarian Steve Fortriede of the Allen County (IN) Library recently received a letter from a book collector seeking to buy the library’s copy of “Secret of Thunder Mountain”(a Tom Quest adventure) written by Norvin Pallas and copyrighted in 1951. He didn’t sell it, but he didn’t reshelve it either.

It’s mostly dealers who are interested, but people are finding that there’s a demand for “the books of their youth; those sweet, innocent boys and girls adventure books from the 30s, 40s and 50s. Pure as the driven snow, they were… they didn’t use drugs, have sex or cuss”, reports the Fort Wayne News-Sentinal.
