    Should a library arrest be different?
    Arresting a combative person, no matter what the age, is difficult. Having been a police officer for a short time (until Tampa’s fine mayor at the time dismissed our entire new recruit class for budget reasons) I have seen some young women who could put up a great fight.

    Years ago several officers would have had to wrestle with the suspect possibly injuring themselves or the suspect. Police really don’t want to injure the suspect because you have to wait with them at the hospital for medical clearance because the jail will not take them bleeding and battered. The taser seems like an effective, minimally dangerous method of diffusing the situation.

    The problem is not that the police made an arrest, nor that the police were required to use force in effecting the arrest; the problem is that the child has become so unruly that she throws books at library patrons and kicks police officers. The blame lays squarely on the child and more importantly on the parents of the child who failed to teach the child the basic behaviors needed to exist in this world.

    It is remarkably sad that this child is probably ruined her life because her parents were too lazy or wasted on crack or for some reason failed to properly raise their child. Well, she can always use the prison library when she gets older.

    Did anyone else notice the Google ads off to the left? Kind of amusing if you have a weird sense of humor like me. I guess we can get some good deals and keep patrons in line if we stock up now on tasers!

    The google ads generally have a click-through rate of way below 1%, so to answer your question, no, not many people noticed the google ads.
    If only we could get 1000 clicks a day I could work on LISNews full time! 🙂
