According to 999 Today, former US presidential candidate Al Gore has been nominated for a leading prize at the US book awards The Quills.
The 58-year-old has been shortlisted in the politics and history category for his environmentalist book The Inconvenient Truth.
Gore will face competition from Jonathan Harr, James Swanson, Candice Millard and Doris Kearns. J. K. Rowling was last year’s big winner.
