Turner writes “So what did she do differently that seperated her from the 1000 spams a day we get here? She sent them to AOL and generate 600,000 complaints.
She sent material the Supreme Court has defined as obscene. She laundered the money overseas to avoid the IRS. She is looking at up to 15 years in prison.
Will this slow spam down. Probably not. Has anyone noticed this story ?
One thing for sure. All the pros know… DON’T spam….
Read about it here… xbiz.com“
Update: 03/11 15:03 GMT by B : EEK! Careful with that site. I didn’t see them when I looked, but mdoneil points out the “X” in xbiz.com is X-Rated, so some of the ads there can have nudity. Sorry about that, had I noticed I would’ve warned you.
A bit much…
While the fact that a spammer gets 15 years for criminal charges remotely related to her spamming is interesting, it generates absolutely no sympathy from me.
However the site to which the LISNews link points contains nudity, and it would have been nice to know that in advance. I often read LISNews.org from work; naked lesbians, no matter how entertaining they may be, are not something one should be looking at at work. Could we perhaps have a not safe for work indication on these.
Re:A bit much…
Mdoneil and I probably don’t agree on much, but this is one area where we do. I work in an elementary school library. Although I don’t usually surf the net while anyone else is in the library, I do occasionally. That site is definitely NSFW.
Sorry
There was no boobies when I looked last night. My fault though, I should’ve looked closer.
Re:A bit much…
When I first found this article there was not any nudity on the page. I just clicked on it again and there was no nudity…so there must be rotating adds on the site that include nudity. Obviously at least two people saw nudity and registered a complaint.
This was not an attempt to insert images of nudity into your life.
It points out an interesting thing about the net…..at one moment a site something and in an other moment it becomes something else. A rotating add can change and people can become very upset with it. I would have given you a “don’t open this in the office” warning had I seen anything.
Re:A bit much…
No harm done. I actually didn’t notice any nekkid women the first time I looked at the article. And I was at home when I saw it. I’m not offended by nudity on the net, just don’t want it coming up at work.
Re:A bit much…
Understood !
Re:A bit much… :>
I’m home now. How do I get the dirty pictures back?
