New Blog: Walt at Random

Walt at Random is a new blog written by Walt Crawford. He’ll be covering Libraries, music, net media, cruising, policy, and other stuff not quite ready for Cites & Insights. He says he’s not a “blog person,” whatever that might be. But as of now, he is a blogger.

    And I wasn’t going to suggest a news story…
    I was going to add a note on my journal (and will do so), but hadn’t actually planned to submit as news (just as I won’t submit Web4Lib or LITA-L posts: I don’t think it’s sufficiently relevant).

    But I’m delighted that you posted the story. And for those who do make the connection between the importance of the weblog and the date of the inaugural post (actually written last night and postdated): Yes, Walt at Random will still be there tomorrow. Although the brilliant little LJ Online piece may not be.

    What We Should’ve Done….
    Was conspired together to make it seem a little bit like an April Fools Day joke, just enought to make people wonder and talk about it. People would write more and link to it more and it would create all sorts of cool marketing buzz. Now I think of it, a day late and a link short I guess.
    So what if it’s not an original idea, I obviously didn’t have any other ideas for today. Actually I did have one, but it didn’t work out, I’m going to try again for next year so I’ll keep it secret till then.
