Lynne Cheney, former director of the National Endowment for the Humanities and wife of the Vice-President, is joining with current NEH Director Bruce Cole in offering books on the theme of freedom to 1,000 public and school libraries through the NEH “We the People” program. Novelist (of sorts)and erstwhile book shredder, Cheney is encouraging libraries to apply for the grants on-line .
