Most-borrowed books in UK

Cavan writes “Dame Catherine Cookson has lost her title as the UK’s most borrowed author
after 17 years at the top of the library lending charts, the BBC reported on
Feb. 13, 2004. She was supplanted by children’s writer Jacqueline Wilson, who
clocked up more than two million loans last year, according to the Public Lending
Right. Of the 20 most-borrowed book at UK libraries, 16 were written by Jacqueline
Wilson. She has sold more than 12 million books in the UK alone and about 30
million books worldwide. Her children’s novels include The Story of Tracy Beaker,
The Suitcase Kid, The Bed and Breakfast Star, Double Act, Bad Girls, The Lottie
Project, Girls in Love, Vicky Angel, The Illustrated Mum, The Dare Game and
