Moore’s Law in Original issue of Electronics nets $10,000

Kathleen writes Moore’s Law, the doubling of transistors every couple of years appeared in the trade magazine,Electronics, April 19, 1965 with the title, “Cramming More Components Onto Integrated Circuits.” On April 11,2005 the eve of the 40th anniversary of the publication of Moore’s law, Intel posted an ad on eBay to buy the 1965 copy which carries the article by Moore, co-founder of Intel on the evolution of silicon technology.
The 1965 trade magazine paid $10,000 to a British engineer who had bought it in the 1970s when a nearby library was clearing out its stacks. Earlier in the month BusinessWeek had noted that the issue was
a hot commodity that needed to be protected by university librarians.”
