Fines collected on parking tickets in St. Louis County, MN, will soon help fund the county courthouse law libraries in Duluth, Hibbing and Virginia. A Short Associated Press Piece reports All parking tickets in the county will increase by $2 on Jan. 1. The St. Louis County Law Library board of trustees, with approval from the St. Louis County Board, voted in favor of the increase.
The increase came about because the law library in Duluth was more than $155,000 in the red as of Dec. 31, 2004. That deficit is offset by reserves held by the law libraries in Hibbing and Virginia.
