I can’t help but post Lucky escape for road rage librarian from The Cambridge Evening News in Cambridge,England. It seems a top librarian (retired) from the Fitzwilliam Museum lost his temper and slapped a Cambridge student in a road rage attack. He was found guilty of assault by magistrates and narrowly escaped jail when he was sentenced at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court.
Presiding magistrate, Prof Sean Mc- Conville, said: “You have had a lucky escape. It is a disgrace for a man like you to appear in court.”
Interesting….
… that brings to mind the debate over whether or not we should/do hold Presidents (and Librarians!?) to a higher standard than “regular” people.
