Lion in wait, library icons set for fixup

Good News for Patience and Fortitude, The two marble lions who stand guard outside the New York Public Library in midtown have waited a long time for a much-needed makeover. Library officials have been aware of the problem since at least 2000 and now say the lions, who turn 93 on May 23, will get an overhaul “shortly.”
