Library Sells First Folio to Stay Open

The Beeb reports on a pending auction for a complete Shakespeare’s First Folio. It is being sold by Dr. Williams’s Library in London and is expected to go for over £3 million. Proceeds will ensure the continued operation of the library, and a future for the other collections preserved there. What’s the most valuable book in your library? And why are you keeping it?

    What’s the most valuable book in your library?
    I printed out all 18,126 stories and all 24,585 comments from LISNews and had them bound! That oughtta be worth something 🙂

    Seriously, the only thing we have is a GIANT hand made map of the City of Niagara Falls from 1917. It was done by an insurance company and has incredible detail of the downtown area from long ago. It’s about 3′ x 5′ which makes it that much more interesting. It may or may not be rare, but it’s the only interesting thing I’ve found so far.
