Library of Congress Agents Ask Lawmakers to Give Them Back Their Guns: Investigators with the Library’s Office of the Inspector General have raised a string of objections after Congress stripped them of their ability to buy and carry firearms in the fiscal 2009 omnibus spending bill. They could get their wish.

  Armed, non-military?
  Basically everywhere there is an Office of Inspector General. NASA’s security guards had to have a specific statutory authorization to carry firearms that could be used to deliver lethal force. Beyond that, you’ve got the US Park Police, Secret Service, FBI, NCIS, Army CID, USAF OSI, and probably quite a few more.
  
  I think 30 is an estimate that is too low.

      I remember the last time I actually had to report a crime to the US Postal Inspection Service. We had major vandalism at a mail slot block at an apartment complex.
