    “more than $36,000 a year”… wow, how about diving that by the cost of living in HI? Some previous coverage touched on this.

    You have to live there to apply. From the application page linked from the article: ” You must be a legal resident of the State of Hawaii at the time of application.”

    The cost of living is 150% of that on the mainland, but the best reason to work as a librarian in Hawaii is that a MLS can substitute for the required Bachelor’s degree!

    When offered this fine close to minimum wage position you may be required to undergo a physical examination at your own expense.

    I can’t make this stuff up. Read the job posting for yourselves.
