Lbrarian who canceled N.Y. Times will retire

Anonymous Patron writes MySA.com Reports Mendell D. Morgan Jr., dean of library services at University of the Incarnate Word and the man whose decision to cancel, and then reinstate, the library’s New York Times print subscription garnered headlines, is retiring.
Morgan said Friday that he would retire after 31 years at the university to care for ailing family members. Before leaving, he plans to work reduced hours for the next couple of years to help with the transition and new initiatives at the library.”
