Jury convicts librarian killer

From The Grand Rapids Press: A third Montcalm County man will spend life in prison after he was convicted Monday in the 2001 slaying of Edmore librarian Kathryn Dyer. Jurors deliberated several hours before finding Travis Underwood, 23, guilty of five felony counts, including first-degree murder. The conviction follows guilty findings in June against brothers Aaron and Anthony Chapman. The trio broke into Dyer’s home, but were surprised by her when she returned home. Dyer, 71, was beaten and left for dead.
