Help is on the way for Circus World Museum library

JB sends “this from the Madison (WI) Capital Times.”The State Historical Society in Madison will send librarians to train volunteers at the Circus World Museum library in Baraboo so historians and researchers will be able to have access to the huge archive, closed this week because of a lack of money….

The library is considered the world’s foremost research facility for circus history, with the archives containing thousands of circus posters, photos, films, audio materials and advertising pieces, some dating back to 1815….

The move was necessary because not enough revenue was generated during the four-day Great Circus Parade and Festival held July 1-4.””
