    Kinda old actually

    This is actually old, as far as news goes. The original article came from September of 2002 and Mattel (ahem) pulled these things long ago.

    I really have to wonder though what that meeting would have been like. A bunch of guys, because it has to be a bunch of guys without a woman in sight or on site, sitting around talking about the new Potter line of toys.

    “So Dick has this new idea for our upcoming line of Potter toys. Dick could you tell us about that?”

    “Certainly, Peter. What do kids really like about Potter? Well there’s a lotta things but we all have to admit that they think the whole flying around on a broom thing playing uhhh… lemme check my notes… Quid? Uh Quidditch? Is that right? Anyhow playing that one game while flying on a broom, they like that. So let’s work with that. Let’s take the old hobby horse track and make a broom so kids can make believe they’re flying around playing that one Q game.”

    “Stupendous idea, Dick! But what about the whole tactile response angle? I mean, kids today want a little something extra from their toys. Got any ideas along those lines?”

    “Sure! To simulate that ‘magic feeling’ we’ll have the broom vibrate. That way kids will really feel like they’re flying.”

    “Fantastic notion. Thomas, you take care of the marketing end and Dick, I want you to handle the production. I want these vibrating brooms between kids legs before Christmas!”

    I think I broke a record for sexual innuendo in that bit. Remember folks, like Sabine says, it’s all about the O.
