Google gets picked on, sometimes correctly, for being monolithic, tone-deaf and a bully.
But several months ago, when the NSA spying story broke, it came out that Google had been approached by the Dept. of Justice who had asked for huge amounts of user data. And Google told them to get bent.
They never got any props for that and I thought that was a shame.
Props for what, exactly? …
