Free Range Librarian For Rent

Following Walt Crawford’s good example, Karen G. Schneider, the “Free Range Librarian,” has hung out her shingle. She reports she’s available for consulting, training, presentations, writing, and editing. She says: “Short- or long-term, I’m a good investment. I’ve been in the full-time workforce for thirty years (yes, since I was two years old — o.k, o.k., since I was nineteen), and bring skills, humor, perspective, and joie de vivre to everything I do (except perhaps housework… no, definitely not housework). I am a happy camper and a team player who enjoys a good day’s work done well.”

    Looking for work
    While I am always sympathetic to colleagues looking for work, I hope this doesn’t set a precedent where lisnews becomes a resume repository rather than a news blog. There are hundreds (if not thousands) of librarians looking for work right now, and that’s hardly news.
