kmhess writes “I saw my first Dr. Who episode last week, and it was excellent. I’m still irritated they refuse to show it in the US.
I just read on yahoo news that the BBC will let programs be downloaded. The special player would let Web users download original BBC radio and television programming from its Web site for as long as seven days after it originally aired.
Also not disclosed was whether the BBC would charge users a fee for the downloads or how it would protect the digital rights of such programming.
I guess I won’t hold my breath, but it sounds promising.”
They offer free streaming radio 7d now
It sounds like they are building a new technology for TV programs, but BBC has been allowing RealAudio on demand versions for up to a week after the episode of most of their radio shows. That’s how I listen to Celtic Connections.
I might be willing to pay for Dr. Who if the subscription fee is reasonable. Woo Hoo!
makes sense
There are a ton of bootleg copies flying around the internet so it makes sense for them to offer official copies.
I wish PBS would show them, though.
