FOIA Act implementation – mixed bag 2000-2002

Daniel writes “The Congressional General Accounting Office has released this new report on the Implementation of the Freedom of Information Act:

One of the report’s surprising findings was that “the number of FOIA requests DENIED dropped dramatically between 2000 and 2001, and remained low in 2002.” I know this finding is contrary to my expectations and so thought others might be interested.

Still, I’m mighty interested to see whether the number of denials went up in 2003. Hopefully there will be a follow up report.”
