This author read at the Ballard Branch of the Seattle Library last week (sponsored by Secret Garden Bookshop) and the buzz was deafening.
According to his website, Alexie will receive the 2008 Stranger Genius Award in literature there on September 13th. Previously he won the National Book Award for Young People and the Horn Book Award.
