Flea-brained columnist apologizes… sort of

Gentle, Little, and not Flea-Brained Librarian writes “From the Lima News: Bart Mills, the columnist who labeled librarians as “flea-brained” last week, has apologized. Sort of. We are back to being “gentle little librarians.””

    Maybe next the cartoonist who depicted Condi Rice as a shuffling black mammy will do something other than take the cartoon down.

    considering the lame, sarcastic “apology” from Mr. Mills, I think people should just continue sending him mail. Why don’t spammers get people like this ?? 🙂

    He didn’t say librarians are flea brained, he said flea brained librarians ban books.

    I didn’t take any offense because I didn’t think he was insulting librarians, just those who are doing something wrong. There are flea brained librarians, just like there are flea brained people in any other profession.

    Thanks for the clarification. I’ve never banned a book, just made judicious purchases given budget restraints, like choosing NOT to buy “How to raise a pit pull to protect your property” or “How to run a successful gambling ring with cock fighting” [titles are loosely paraphrased, but they exist].

    Flea brained librarians
    1) should be filtered out
    2) write blood sucking book reviews
    3) get under my skin
    4) make annoying humming sounds
    5) create a rash of bad publicity for the profession.
