Fallout accrues in library dispute

It’s been weeks since Oak Bay and Langford fired political bombshells at the Greater Victoria Library Board, but the reverberations continue to wreak political havoc.
Both municipalities sidestepped protocols “if not the spirit of the law” by refusing to appoint private citizens to the Greater Victoria Public Library Board.
Both municipalities sent two council members instead.
Now the GVPL is circulating a letter outlining an opinion from legal counsel stating that Langford and Oak Bay are violating the Library Act, and thus, that both municipalities have engaged in illegal activity.
