Rather Disturbing Article from Tennessee. Dianna Acklen walked past the home on 2982 Knights Church Road nearly every day, according to those who knew the 60-year-old Franklin County woman.
But for reasons that remained unclear yesterday, the daily exercise turned deadly Saturday when, police suspect, the well-known librarian was fatally mauled by her neighbor’s dogs.

Associated Press calls the woman “elderly” (Dogs attack, kill elderly woman
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS, May 9, 2006). It’s awful what happened to that poor woman, but I don’t think 60 is elderly…is it? birdie (not quite elderly)
Re:elderly
To me, someone who’s “elderly” is someone who’s unable to go out for a “usual walk.”
Yes, that means if a 100 year old woman goes out regularly for a quarter mile jaunt, she’s really not that elderly in my eyes.
Re:elderly
It better not be, sez I, born September 1945. My father’s getting to be elderly, but I figure on another decade or two before the epithet applies. Elderly? Good grief.
Re:elderly
Thank you for confirming my assumptions Dragon and Walt. Somebody better give those young whippersnappers over at the AP a lickin’.
Aunt Dianna
Family,
It has been a long time, I am sorry that you are going through this and my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
