Country Music Scholar/Librarian Pinson Dead at 69

Bob Pinson, one of the world’s foremost country music scholars and collectors passed on September 4 at the age of 69. Pinson had been a researcher and librarian at the Country Music Hall of Fame until his retirement in 2001. During his almost 30 years there, Pinson built the Museum’s collection from 15,000 recordings to over 200,000 through donations, exchange agreements with the Library of Congress and an acquistions budget created by auctioning of duplicate copies.
