Congressman thinks library security better than Los Alamos

mdoneil writes “Rep. Joe Barton, chairman of the House energy and commerce committee said regarding the lapse of security leading to the loss of 2 Zip disks at Los Alamos National Lab: “There’s probably better security at the Ennis Public Library over CDs and videos.”
Perhaps they should hire a librarian to handle those things. We are quite familiar with maintaining confidential data – and some would say obsessed with it. We certainly are familiar with barcodes and barcode scanners. We can organize and catalog the collection and we are familiar with working in a bureauacracy.

Protect the nation, hire a librarian.”
