Another study has been released showing that viewers of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are more knowledgeable about current events than viewers of the Fox News Channel.*
The coaxial and digital revolutions and attendant changes in news audience behaviors have had little impact on how much Americans know about national and international affairs.
There’s lots of other findings in the full report. I wonder where LISNews readers fall along the curve?

1. the link is bad, should be: http://people-press.org/reports/pdf/319.pdf
I got it from here: http://blogs.phillynews.com/dailynews/nextmayor/2
2. The O’Reilly Factor is listed along with the Daily Show and Colbert Report, so isn’t Rush Limbaugh.
I don’t regularly watch either…
I don’t watch either often, but I don’t watch the Colbert Report at all because, well because I heard it was a comedy show pretending to be a news show or some such nonsense. I frankly don’t have the time.
I did however watch Fox news this evening to hear about the VT shootings. Half an hour in a month or so for Fox.
Oh, and I’m smarter than you.
Cherrypicking Watch
Just to pile on a bit more, the same study shows Rush Limbaugh listeners to be better informed than CNN viewers (No, I don’t listen to Rush). So the original post involved just a little cherrypicking.
Re:I don’t regularly watch either…
…but you do have time to post comments about them. Am I the only one who sees the irony?
Re:I don’t regularly watch either…
Perhaps because I’m not watching TV. Yes it seems you are the only one who sees any irony. Have a nice time all by yourself over there.
