Scary
First the news about the court allowing email interception. Now China is monitoring text messaging. The real purpose (according to us but probably true) is to monitor and arrest dissidents. So George Orwell wasn’t that far off was he?
Re:Scaryc ourt=1st&navby=case&no=031383 A person at a company was searching through the emails on the email system that they had created. Although this is bad it is not the same as going out an intercepting emails from anywhere on the Internet. What this case shows is that you need an email provider you can trust. If you can trust no one you should consider encrypting your email. We are far from an Orwellian world.
If you read the text of the email case you will find that it is not that scary. The case is at http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/cgi-bin/getcase.pl?
