Charm School–An Idea Whose Time Has Come…Back

Gulf Live informs us about librarian Elizabeth Sierra McKay and her plans to reopen her charm school for girls in grades one through twelve. McKay, a retired librarian and guidance counselor from the Mobile Public School System and currently a librarian for the Moss Point School District, said, “I strongly feel that our girls should learn some basic old school poise and etiquette along with what they are learning today. There are too many little girls now with attitude problems; maybe the attitudes are coming from a result of low self-esteem, peer pressure or the lack of knowing how to have an all-around personality. These reasons may have been overlooked for the causes of their behavior,” McKay said. “I feel I can help some of our girls by reopening my charm school again.”
