Buffalo Library loses a leader

The Buffalo News Says Mahaney steered system at tough time and charted a course for the future. One of the area’s gems is about to get a new leader, as the public says goodbye to Michael C. Mahaney, who took on the unenviable task of slimming down Erie County’s bloated and costly library system in the aftermath of the county’s worst budget crisis.

The library system, as a whole, serves as an economic development tool, with resources for entrepreneurs and businesses people, job seekers and literacy.
