Books Out Of School

The slippery slope just got a bit steeper in the Blue Valley, MO, School District’s high school. A group of parents and community members concerned about allegedly inappropriate content call the removal of 5 books from the high school curriculum “a small step in the right direction.” They now hope “that there will be many more steps like this made.” Reg. Meanwhile over at The Quad City Times – Davenport,IA, they report The Pleasant Valley School Board “acted out of the legitimate educational concern of age-appropriateness” when it forbade the district’s elementary school teachers from reading a specific book aloud to students, a state administrative law judge says.
