Book Destroyer

An Anonymous Patron writes “Burning the American or other flags is sometimes done to make a point and exercise free speech principles. The blog Book Destroyer (http://members.cox.net/bookdestroyer/) does the same but with books. The site argues that sometimes it is a good idea to destroy books. Sometimes the books are wrong and sometimes the destruction of the book makes an important point.”

    Sometimes the books are wrong and sometimes the destruction of the book makes an important point.

    That is NOT what the Book Destroyer said. The books were destroyed to make a point, but because they were wrong. Destroying a book because a person thinks it is wrong is censorship. That appears not to be what the Book Destroyer is promoting at all.

    One book is was destroyed because of a bad car. One was destroyed because people may take it too seriously without looking at other options. One was destroyed to show that political discussions must be based in facts.

    The Corrections: Apply Match or Hands
    This dude/ette ripped up a copy of “The Corrections” with his/her bare hands. I bow down to him/her. It’s funny, because this is the only book I ever gave thought to burning. Literally.
