Book challenge follow up editorial

Michael Nellis writes \”This is just to point the way to an op/ed piece in the Hartford Courant that follows up the story about the challenge to Bridge to Terabithia and The Witch of Blackbird Pond. It has a very nice kudo to librarians, as well.\”

\”There may be nicer, smarter and better people than librarians somewhere, but I don\’t know who they could be. Could evil find a home with the wise, bright and dedicated folks who run the Belden Public Library in Cromwell? Please. With all its happy \”Hats Off to Reading\” signs and \”Book Bingo\” contests, such a place would be horrifying to the literary agents of the Dark Lord. For one thing, librarians (shhhhhh) turn on the lights to knowledge – and wriggly things fear the cleansing sunshine. They prefer to close down minds.\”
