Berkeley librarian works hard to make a big noise

The Alameda Times-Star has a nice report on Pat Mullan a librarian at the Berkeley library. They say Mullan “breaks all the stereotypes” of librarians as meek, horn-rimmed creatures who derive great pleasure from hushing the masses. Well, maybe not all the stereotypes as she is pictured wearing glasses.
She organizes bold lectures, sets up dynamic jazz concerts and schedules spirited films as part of the library’s free programming.
