Scary News From The Lansing State Journal. The Mason City Michigan library has toxic mold. It will cost about $120,000 to permanently remove toxic mold from the Mason Library, the city engineer said Friday.
The cost could speed up the community’s decision on whether to build a new library, make major changes in the current one or move to another building.
Elaine Ferris, president of the Friends of the Mason Library, worries families will get out of the habit of using the library, especially children.
“We don’t want our kids to lose all their brain cells … this summer,” Ferris said. “It could happen without a library.”
