At last, books without those pesky authors

Philly.com checks out the Second Life creation called the Literature Factory. What’s a Literature Factory? “Well, now, that’s a silly question, it’s simply a factory that makes literature,” went the waggish message, posted by Factory creator Andy Fundinger. He described his project as a kind of automated “writer” that compiles letters into words, words into sentences, and sentences into a book-length work.

    Literature factory? Books without authors?

    Why not? Franklin Dixon, Carolyn Keene, V.C. Andrews, and Robert Ludlum have been doing that for years!

    You’re close, but I think there’s one amendment to that statement.

    100% of the activity on Second Life is virtually jerking off. At least when you’re jerking off in the real world, you’ll have something tangible to show for it after you’re done.
