Ashland Residents Vote ‘Yes’ on Local Levy

Anonymous Patron writes “Unofficial Election results for September 18, 2007
Citizens of Ashland, OR (where one of the 15 closed Jackson County libraries resides) voted YES to a local option tax levy of $.58 per $1,000 assessed value for 2 years for library operations

Yes: 5,320 (74.52%)
No: 1,819 (25.48%)
Voter turnout: 57.3% / Voter turnout met the “double majority” (over 50% of registered voters voted) required for non-general elections in an odd-numbered year.(It’s worth nothing that Ashland citizens voted in favor of the county-wide levy previously as well).”
