It’s with a heavy heart that this science-fiction fan reports the death of one of the greatest people in the genre. Arthur C. Clarke died today in Sri Lanka at the age of 90. He battled post-polio syndrome since the 60s and, according to his aide, suffered breathing problems over his last few days.
Besides his talent for science fiction writing, Clarke also pioneered the communications satellite and spoke heavily in favour of a planetary defense against civilization killing asteroids.

I have read 2001, 2010, 2061, 3001. I also read “The Songs of Distant Earth”. My brother really like “Rendevous with Rama” but I didn’t get into it the first time I read it.
I’ve read some his stories
I’ve read some his stories (The Sentinel inspired 2001–Nine Billion Names of God has the creepiest ending I’ve ever read). Childhood’s End rocked the hell out of me.
