Arthur C. Clarke Passes Away

It’s with a heavy heart that this science-fiction fan reports the death of one of the greatest people in the genre. Arthur C. Clarke died today in Sri Lanka at the age of 90. He battled post-polio syndrome since the 60s and, according to his aide, suffered breathing problems over his last few days.

MSNBC has the story.

Besides his talent for science fiction writing, Clarke also pioneered the communications satellite and spoke heavily in favour of a planetary defense against civilization killing asteroids.
