Alexandria Library displays ‘Protocols of Zion’

The Associated Press reports: "The U.N. culture agency has asked Egypt’s Alexandria Library to respond to complaints of anti-Semitism surrounding the library’s display of the ‘Protocols of the Elders of Zion’ a work long dismissed as an anti-Semitic tract." The Skeptic’s Dictionary has an entry on the title, while the Middle East Media Research Institute presents a different story.     What a load of crap
    Well, that MEMRI article was certainly an amusing piece of misinformation. It’s a wonder the author didn’t include any blood libel. I’ve got five bucks says that sucker would squeal like a stuck pig if someone was to accuse Islam of being a bloody-handed religion and directly responsible for the World Trade Center attack.

    I’d take anything MEMRI posts with a hefty pinch of salt. It’s a site that reports on the Arab media, with a track record of, shall we say, selective reporting and misquoting. Take a wander over to Metafilter sometime and look for threads where articles posted on MEMRI have been discussed – they tend to get discredited on future investigation.

    As a librarian, I wouldn’t consider MEMRI an authoritative source, by any means.
