aadl.org ?
Apparently it doesn’t matter to the ALA that finding out what AADL stands for is a bit of a chore!
ALA giving web awards?!?
I’m sorry, but the ALA giving an award for best library website ios ridiculous since their site is a swamp of badness. I’m going to start giving awards in electrochemical engineering because I have no background in that.
Blame the bad website on the advisory commitee

Re:Blame the bad website on the advisory commitee
Holy crap, talk about too many cooks…
17 inch
I have a 17 inch monitor. I think that is a pretty standard size and the page does not fit on my monitor. I have to scroll over to see the whole thing. It is my understanding that a semi-competent web designer can build a page that adjust to the size of the monitor. You know the techie that built this page has a ridiculously large monitor.
Re:17 inch
I have a 17-inch monitor and it fits fine? I don’t have to scroll at all. What screen resolution do you have your operating system set to? Mine is 1024 x 768 pixels.
4 pages needed to print aadl.org website home page
If you try to print or convert to a PDF file the home page of the aadl.org website, you will need four 8 1/2 by 11 pages.
Browsing through the structure of the site only reveals more of the same.
The procedure which has chosen aadl.org as best library website in the country is highly flawed.

Re:17 inch
Perhaps it is a browser setting, try non-Crap. Oh, it might be MS IE, that does not have a non-Crap setting.
Pastel Colors on AADL Difficult to Read
The amber colored characters on a white background are quite annoying to read. Over a black background they would be great.
Really?
I see dark orange but no amber. It’s very easy for me to read.
a variable color averaging a dark orange yellow
amber
2 entries found for amber.
Main Entry: 1am·ber
Pronunciation: ‘am-b&r
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English ambre, from Middle French, from Medieval Latin ambra, from Arabic ‘anbar ambergris
1 : a hard yellowish to brownish translucent fossil resin that takes a fine polish and is used chiefly in making ornamental objects (as beads)
2 : a variable color averaging a dark orange yellow
Re:Pastel Colors on AADL Difficult to Read
Not nearly as annoying as the coloring on the Handheld Librarian blog. Once you scroll past the initial light gray background, the headlines and links all disappear into the darker blue background.

Either way, I still don’t find it difficult to read
