A Librarian of a Different Sort. An Orchestra Librarian

Robert Stiles is in charge of all the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s music — and plays double bass. He’s an orchestra librarian. He checks for errata–mistakes are fixed by whiting them out and correcting them. Sometimes you can rewrite a bar of music and paste it in. “You need a steady hand and a good set of tweezers” says Stiles.
