Planet Karen has a funny take on abridged versus unabridged books and the consequences of thinking too hard about them.
The punchline to this is that I too have seen a book like this and had a similar thought. However, I turned into a librarian ages ago.
Don’t know what I’m talking about? Of course you don’t, unless you read the comic.
Reader’s Digest
Back in the old days of the 1960s, we used to do this game of reducing titles to something that a Reader’s Digest editor would do. About the only one I can remember from this game was a title: “Julius, Baby, Go Grab Her Quickly Before She Runs Away from You Forever!”
The playwright’s Reader’s Digest editor reduced it to “Julius Caesar” 😉
