A Hoffman Estates, IL, man who prosecutors said used computers at a northwest suburban library to download information from pornographic Web sites pleaded guilty Monday to child pornography charges.
Prosecutors said Keith Libonati, 30, of the 600 block of Orange Lane, had an album in his home of computer-generated images of young children engaged in sex acts.
enjoy
Enjoy prison scumbag. Although I didn’t read the article because I was too lazy to register.
title
somehow the title of this story doesn’t seem quite on point…the part about ‘upstanding citizen’
And the most clueless person…
…in this whole sorry episode is, of course, the library director.
From the story:
“The allegations surprised Michael Madden, library director, who said Schaumburg has been using filters on its computers since 1996.
‘It’s a mystery to us. We are the strictest library on filters around,’ Madden said. ‘They filter out all nudity and sex acts.’
Indeed they do, Mr. Madden. Here are a couple more Immutable Facts: Bigfoot really exists, and O. J. really didn’t do it.
Frankly, the chances of either of those being true are orders of magnitude greater than the chances of any computer program being able to identify “all nudity and sex acts.”
That said, however, letting this creep-the perp, not the library director-off with probation is an outrage. Dollars to doughnuts he does it again. Leopards don’t change their spots.
Re:And the most clueless person…
The idiocy about filters notwithstanding, probation? The article sucks in that it calles them computer generated images. Were they photographs or some pervert’s drawings. There is a big difference. However since he had stuff sent through the mail I will have to guess they were photographs.
Probation? If I did that I would kill myself. This guy deserves prison. People who produce child pornography should be killed. People who buy it should spend the remainder of their disgusting lives in the worst prinson in this country. Scumbag.
Terrible of course but…
“He used computers at the Schaumburg Township District Library to find Web sites and download information, then printed the images using his home computer, prosecutors said”
If he used his own computer to print them and had other stuff on there then why did he go to the Library to download stuff? Surely it would be safer to follow this behaviour at home where people aren’t looking over your shoulder. Can’t sick freaks afford internet access in the US?
Anyway it does actually sound like the fact he used Libraries is nothing to do with why he got caught, just a fact in the trial I suppose that someone decided to use to make a story as sadly this sort of this is all too common otherwise.
