Canadian veteranarian Chris Crobmie found untold family treasure in the form of thousands of pages of newsletters detailing his family’s daily life in the 1920s and 30s. Suspecting that he’d found something special, he called the archives at McMaster university and got archivist Carl Spadoni to look at the materials, written and illustrated by Crombie’s grandfather. Said Spadoni:
We get these calls from time to time and it could be anything and everything. I usually do it over the phone, but it was a nice day and I did it by way of courtesy
Despite finding baskets of papers that had been out in the rain, Spadoni was “blown away.” Lots more here at the Hamilton Spectator.
