10 Ways to Save Money on Books is a neat post from the “Get Rich Slowly” blog. The author used to spend thousands of dollars a year on books, most of which he never read. Recently he began to trim his book spending. He spent nearly $3000 on books in 2003, but that number dropped to $700 last year. How did he do it? Through self-discipline and some commonsense tricks.

    Wow!
    What library does he go to that lets you check out a book for up to six months? We have a three week check out period and you can renew once.

    we can renew 3 times
    My public library allows a 3 week check out with up to 3, three week renewals.
    New releases are 7-day check outs. I don’t think you can renew any book if someone has a hold on it. So for most books, you can have it checked out for 12 weeks, which I have done on occasion. But 6 months–wow!
